Flamingo Fizz - A Gin Cocktail to Try!

This winning recipe from Coastal Living Magazine is inspiring me to give this pretty pink cocktail a try this weekend for my daughter's birthday!  Off to the grocery store to grab the ingredients -

  • 1 ounce (2 tablespoons) gin
  • 1 ounce (2 tablespoons) pomegranate liqueur
  • 1 ounce (2 tablespoons) 100 percent pomegranate juice
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons fresh lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • egg white
  • 1 ounce (2 tablespoons) seltzer
  • Garnishes: pomegranate seeds, lime slice, fresh mint sprig -  I think raspberries would be fun too!
Combine first 6 ingredients in a cocktail shaker. Cover and shake 30 seconds or until sugar is dissolved. Add cream and egg white; cover and shake 10 seconds more. Add a few small ice cubes; cover and shake vigorously 2 to 3 minutes or until you can no longer hear the ice cubes. Strain into a cocktail glass. Top with seltzer, and add garnish.

Will let you all know how it turns out - might have to do some experimenting before she gets here!

Also thinking that Flamingo Glassware might be in order....

Or maybe these pretty Tropic Flamingo DOF Glasses?
